Description: A French soldier leads a wounded German prisoner "stupefied by the force of the French bombardment" to the rear along a railway track. A French soldier holds up for the benefit of the camera a number of expended shells, "smoke cartridges for blinding assailants, shrapnel and projectiles each charged with 11lbs of Cheddite," used by the Germans in the battle.
